Keep the original condition with its dated source
A research idea can include a condition that never occurs in your observation window. Preserve the original instrument, entry condition, invalidation and expiry rather than converting every published message into an assumed trade.
Record when the condition was defined and what evidence would count as meeting it. A UK-local review should retain full source instants and offsets. A later edited condition should not silently replace the one that was available during the earlier observation.
Count the stages in one invented five-idea cohort
Imagine five teaching ideas were recorded. Evidence supports that three entry conditions occurred; two did not occur within the stated coverage. Of those three triggered cases, two have supplied closed outcomes, one positive and one negative. The third remains unresolved.
The closed-subset positive proportion is 1/2, or 50%, under that explicitly stated population. It is not an independently verified strategy win rate. Treating all five ideas as closed trades or treating the unresolved case as a zero outcome would change the question.

Not observed and not observable are different states
A condition not met under complete stated coverage differs from a condition you cannot evaluate because the relevant data are missing. Preserve that distinction. An incomplete price interval does not prove that an entry trigger never occurred.
Likewise, observing a trigger does not authenticate an accepted order or fill. Keep a claimed execution, a source observation and a closed result as separate evidence. The teaching cohort assumes only the stages explicitly supplied in its description.
Do not select a population after seeing the attractive result
Choose the review rule before inspecting which subtotal looks better. A population of published ideas, triggered cases and known closed cases can each be described, but their ratios are not interchangeable. Keep unresolved and excluded records alongside the chosen statistic.
Also preserve the expense and valuation convention used to label a closed outcome positive or negative. A gross result and a net result can differ. This article supplies no actual outcome ledger and does not resolve missing fees.
Report the stages and the limits together
A reproducible note can state five ideas, three observed conditions, two known closed outcomes and one triggered unresolved case. If it reports 50% for the known closed subset, the denominator and hypothetical status should remain visible beside the number.
The example proves no signal quality, executed trade, expected return or future success. Every count is invented. It adds a population audit to an information checklist without presenting a complete-looking card as verification of the separate offer.
